Overview of Pricing
As a consumer, it is important to know what costs are involved in planning a funeral or cremation. Knowing these expenses will not only prevent emotional overspending, but will also allow you to set a budget and spend what you can actually afford.
Many different factors determine the final cost of a funeral. Just as with other life rituals such as weddings, the price for a funeral often depends on how elaborate or simple the ceremony is.
We pride ourselves on complete transparency when it comes to pricing. If you are unsure of your options, or have priced services elsewhere, we would be honored to talk with you.
One of our caring directors will provide you with pricing over the phone or via email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As always, there is no cost or obligation.
General Price Lists
In New York State, each funeral firm is required to have a General Price List, which they must present to you for retention. This list is basically an “ala carte” menu of the services and merchandise funeral homes have to offer. You have the right to choose only the services you want.
You will be provided with an itemized statement with the total cost of the services and merchandise you have selected when you are making arrangements.
We encourage you to compare prices among funeral providers.
It is important to recognize the differences in the overall level of service and the manner in which fees are quoted. Every funeral provider charges separately for two main components - professional services and merchandise. While one firm may have lower service charges than another, their merchandise prices may be higher, resulting in a comparable total price.
We believe that our pricing represents the greatest value in our community. In fact, 96% of the families we have served indicated that our pricing was “Less than expected” in a recent 2012 survey.
Our firm has always placed the emphasis on service over merchandise, as our families value the positive experience with our staff, facilities and the thoughtful care we render.
