Joyce was born on March 9, 1944 to Anna and Lawrence Keller in Olean, NY. She was the fifth oldest of 10 children and learned at a very young age the importance of taking care of and looking out for family. These values she carried throughout her lifetime making her house a home by welcoming anyone, at any time, and making them comfortable.

By chance, Joyce met her soon to be husband during her junior year at Olean High School. They began going steady soon after while Joyce finished high school and Don finished college. Upon graduating in 1962, Joyce enrolled in the Olean Business Institute where she earned a degree that eventually lead to a job supporting office executives at Midtown Plaza in Downtown Rochester where Donald accepted a position at Bausch and Lomb. In 1964, they wed and in Rochester is where Joyce and Don built their lives and raised their children. In 1970, Joyce chose to stay home to raise her family and tend to the home.

Some of Joyce's favorite pastimes were tending to her garden and taking in its beauty; sitting on the porch steps and enjoying the neighborhood; crocheting, knitting, and other crafts; baking and decorating personalized cakes, trying new recipes, and listening to classic county music, especially Kenny Rogers. However, nothing made her happier than caring for and pampering her grandchildren. From garage sales and Easter egg hunts to picnics and handcrafted gifts, no day felt complete without spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce was always swift with an idiom or quip and had a special knack for anything related to crafts and home remedies, but as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, she lived for her family. She was always there to provide support, encouragement, and guidance. She dedicated herself to her children and grandchildren, creating special moments like making Christmas cookies, celebrating birthdays and milestones, trying to teach everyone to crochet, playing games and doing crosswords, and completing numerous craft projects. These memories will be held close to everyone's hearts and cherished forever.

Dedicating her life to family, crafting, baking, gardening, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures, Joyce will be deeply missed and she will always be lovingly remembered by all of her family and friends.

"We greatly appreciated everything you did to make dad’s funeral special and unique. If he could thank you himself he would. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you ever so much."
